Apple Crisp

Due to my sweet tooth and the CSA pot luck we had the other night, I thought I should share my favorite apple crisp recipe with you all!


  • ¾ cup oatmeal
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 stick butter
  • 6-8 apples – Empire are in your boxes this week.


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Peel and slice apples and place in an ovenproof pan.
  • Melt butter. Mix with other ingredients. Pat the oatmeal mixture evenly on top. (While the recipe only calls for the above quantities of brown sugar, oatmeal, flour, cinnamon and butter, I like to double the recipe for extra crisp!)
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes.
