Our Sheep and Connection with Herd Supply Co.

Beckett Farms is a third-generation sheep farm in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Our flock’s wool and lanolin supply Herd Supply Co., a small-batch skincare and wool goods brand that makes sheep milk soap, lanolin salves, and felted wool products from our farm’s raw materials.

For three generations, our family has raised sheep on this land in Glastonbury. Alongside wool, our flock produces lanolin, the natural oil sheep produce to protect their coats, and sheep milk, both of which leave the farm as raw ingredients for one specific purpose: Herd Supply Co.

Herd Supply Co. is a farm-rooted brand built on a single idea — that everything in the product line traces back to one animal. Our wool is felted into dryer balls and wool goods. Our lanolin becomes the base for their Lanolin Salve and Understory Salve. Our sheep milk is the foundation of their soap bars.

Some of the wool is also sourced from neighboring Connecticut farms — Hildred’s Farm in South Windsor and Sankow’s Beaver Brook Farm in Lyme. Our most recent batch was entirely from our flock and scoured at Clean Fleece (an initiative of the Hudson Valley Textile Project) and processed at Greenfleece Fiber Mill before reaching Herd Supply Co.
